Audiology Clinical Service Lead 

Location: Newbury, Berkshire

We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Audiology Clinical Service Lead to join our growing independent hearing clinic. This is a pivotal role in the next stage of our growth and an opportunity for a Senior Audiologist, Clinical Scientist or Hearing Aid Dispenser who is passionate about outstanding patient care and would enjoy helping to shape and develop both our clinical service and our team.

We provide services to both children and adults, including hearing assessments, wax removal and hearing aid fittings, alongside more complex services including APD and tinnitus assessment, speech testing and the management of complex hearing loss. Our clinical staff have NHS backgrounds, and we bring that depth of clinical expertise into a personalised, service-led private practice. 

We work alongside our sister company, TJ Audiology Training, so there are also opportunities to develop skills in training as well as access to our training resources and courses as part of your Continuing Professional Development. 

 

The role 

You will combine hands-on clinical work with genuine leadership responsibility, gradually taking ownership of the day-to-day clinical service and helping us build the team, systems and processes we need as the business grows. Working closely with the Director, you'll have the opportunity to influence how the service develops while continuing to deliver outstanding clinical care yourself. 

This is a role for someone who enjoys not only providing excellent clinical care, but also developing people, improving how things work and helping to build a successful and sustainable service. 

 

Challenges of the Role 

As a growing independent business, we're also open about the areas we're still developing. For the right person, these challenges provide a genuine opportunity to influence how the service operates and help us build strong foundations for future growth. As this role has previously been undertaken by the Director/Owner as the business has developed, some of our protocols and procedures have not yet been formally documented. Full training will be provided initially, and as part of that process, the post-holder will be expected to document procedures where needed, helping to create clear and effective processes for the growing team.  

There will be some lone working  as we are a small team, but also opportunities to recruit further staff into the business, as the role develops. 

We are also currently undertaking CQC registration and the post-holder would support this application. 

 

About you 

  • Qualified Audiologist or Hearing Aid Dispenser (HCPC registered) in a senior role or Clinical Scientist in Audiology. 

  • 2+ years of clinical audiology experience 

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills 

  • Good customer service and leadership skills 

  • Organised, proactive, and collaborative 

  • Committed to ethical, patient-centred care 

  • Service development skills and drive 

  • Paediatric experience is desirable, but not essential 

  • Previous business experience is desirable but not essential. You will, however, need an interest in understanding the commercial side of an independent healthcare business and a willingness to develop your business knowledge - including how excellent patient care, appropriate recommendations, service development and sustainable business growth work together.
