Introducing The Starkey Omega by Tracy James MSc CS RHAD
The Starkey Omega is very new and so far I’ve had excellent results. People have tried the Starkey hearing aids and that’s it! Everything is set up well, and they’re good to go. They can hear conversation, they can hear in noise. There is very little reason to come back for a follow up.
Starkey has AI like the other brands, but they have both automated AI and AI that is run through the Starkey app. A useful feature is ‘Edge Mode’ which can be used on the spot to optimise your listening, based on the changes in the acoustic environment and / or noise. This can be done via the app or by tapping near your ear for a quick fix.
Starkey is the most established compared to the other brands in the custom rechargeable models – they were the first to introduce this to the market. The quality of the devices are excellent, and people often stay with them for a very long time – not wanting to revert to other brands or styles.
Other features include connecting to Alexa, a ‘falls’ function, fitness tracker and a translate feature. So there is a lot there if you need it, or turn it off if you don’t! They look great, they sound great, they’re robust and Starkey as a company look after both the clients and the audiologists well with their support and repair services.
